Discover The Secret of Scuba Diving JAPAN.

Why does Japan have more scuba divers than any country outside the USA? Because there are more than 2,000 great dive spots along its 34,000 kilometers of coastline. Many of the most beautiful, above and below the water, are within easy reach of Tokyo and Nagoya, so daytrips from the cities can be part of any Japanese holiday.
A unique combination of warm and cold water currents attracts an amazing diversity of both tropical and cold water marine life to Japan’s coasts, while shipwrecks and caves add an extra dimensions to the experience. Small wonder the Japanese themselves think so highly of their underwater treasures and are eager to share them with visitors. Diving Japan is a great way to meet and make friends with Japanese people you would never meet on the usual tourist trail.
So why not take a few days to do justice to this great diving experience? Around the leading dive sites you will find all kinds of accommodation, from glitzy resorts and traditional Ryokan Inns to simple minshuku (bed and breakfast). Either way, you're sure to enjoy a post-dive soak in a hot-spring bath and some incredibly fresh seafood.
The main diving season around mainland Japan is July to November, when the ocean is at its warmest, usually 23 to 29 degrees. But with the right equipment, it's possible to dive year round at sites such as the lovely Izu peninsular near Tokyo. Even in January and February, when you need warm coats and mittens on land, water temperatures don't fall much below 15 degrees, which is perfectly comfortable in a dry suits. And there are some real advantages to winter diving - no crowds, stable weather, better visibility, and sea life you won't see in other seasons
